Our dream is to play a role in bringing new ideas and solutions to create a substantial and positive impact for families affected by autism in the state of Oklahoma. AutismOklahoma.org is committed to stimulating good ideas and programs for persons and families affected by autism.
The PieceWalk is the primary mechanism for grant funding. Grants are available to Oklahoma organizations and focus on areas of research, education, and parent groups.
Paying it forward is a fundamental philosophy of AutismOklahoma.org. Over the past 2 years, we have awarded $87,500 in grants from monies raised by the PieceWalk. Our recipients include public universities in Oklahoma that provide research and education, private schools, public entities, parent support groups, and organizations that provide assistive communication devices. All of our recipients provide quality programs that will improve life in Oklahoma for kids with autism.
The Oklahoma Statewide Autism Conference is another key beneficiary of AutismOklahoma. Since 2009, AutismOklahoma has donated $33,000 to this annual education event.
