Summer Advance: Be Ready for COLLEGE
The Be Ready for COLLEGE Summer Advance provides transition support for students diagnosed with ASDs. The purpose of Summer Advance is to set aside specific time in the summer to explore and empower students and their families to pursue career or education objectives that are based on individual interests and capabilities. The program will provide educators, parents, and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) with information and skills for LIFE beyond high school. The program will help educate and inspire persons with autism and their families to reach their potential.
Summer Advance is brought to you by a collaboration between The University of Central Oklahoma and AutismOklahoma.org
In 2012, Summer Advance will focus on equipping young adults who have autism to prepare for the college experience. Summer Advance is scheduled for Sunday, June 24 – Tuesday, June 26 on the UCO Campus. This program will serve approximately 10-12 students and will require an application, references, and family participation.
