AutismOklahoma.org is committed to stimulating good ideas and programs for persons and families affected by autism.
The PieceWalk is the primary mechanism for grant funding. In 2011-12, AutismOklahoma awarded grants to Oklahoma organizations who focused in areas of research, education, and parent groups. During those years, AutismOklahoma.org awarded $87,500 in grants from monies raised by the PieceWalk. For a list of our recipients, see Past Grant Winners.
In 2013, AutismOklahoma.org is introducing a new kind of grant for families called the Technology for Autism grant. This grant will provide an opportunity for families to apply for an IPAD. In 2013, AutismOklahoma.org will provide 5 IPADs. Rules and deadlines for this grant will be published on the AutismOklahoma.org website and announced on our facebook pages. The grant is targeted to family members who want to develop their writing skills and share their stories. Winners must agree to write articles, send videos, or share funny stories about their family experience to be published in our “Think Differently” campaign. All work submitted will become the property of AutismOklahoma.org. (Psuedo names can be used, if desired.) In addition, information about the IPAD as a communication device will also be available and shared with grant winners.
Our 2013 IPad grants have been awarded! See our story in Community News for the winners!
