We meet in room 106, on the 1st floor of the church, to the right of the elevator. Our parent meeting allows parents, grandparents, caregivers, and professionals the opportunity to get together and share experiences! We often feature a local expert on a relevant topic and we always allow time to share and ask questions.
Child care is provided, but registration is required. Please contact Lorrie Servati at Lorrie@autismoklahoma.org to register your children. Registration is required via email by the Monday before for the meeting.
Interested in joining our AutismOKC.org group on Facebook? This is how many of our families communicate with one another and where they can share in a closed and secure environment. Additionally, this is also a great place to get advice from other families who are dealing with similar issues regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders. To join us on Facebook, just click here!
AutismOKC.org is looking to provide several Family Fun Nights throughout the year for families to socialize together. These are safe, accepting outings that you and your family can enjoy without fear of criticism. Examples of Family Fun Nights include Pelican Bay, JumpZone, a Redhawks game, etc. More information will be available in the near future. Please make sure to register for our Family Fun Nights. Online registration soon to come!
One Saturday per month, the AMC Theaters at Quail Springs and Crossroads Mall provide a “Sensory Friendly Film” just for our families. The sound is lowered and the lights are raised for the comfort of the kids. Movement and noise in the theater is perfectly fine! The dates and times for the movies are announced via e-mail on our message board and Facebook page.
Starting Fall 2013, Easter Seals Oklahoma will be sponsoring the new Oklahoma City Sibshops which will offer activities specifically designed for siblings, to interact with other siblings, that will help them understand the challenges and opportunities of having a brother or sister with special needs.
